The Little Qualicum
River flows northeast from Cameron Lake and crosses Highway 19 approximately
5km northwest of Qualicum Beach on the east coast of Vancouver Island.
Fishable length
of the Little Qualicum River is 20km, and angling pressure is heavy.
Most angling occurs in the lower portion of the river, with access
principally by hiking from Highway 19, and from the Little Qualicum
Spawning Channel, accessed by car via Melrose Road off Highway 4 near
the Whiskey Creek service station (8km southwest of Qualicum Beach).
The upper portion of the Little Qualicum River can be reached via
Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park, off Highway 4, two kilometres
passed Whiskey Creek.

Little Qualicum
River supports a sizable run of steelhead, but is also noted for its
sea-run cutthroat trout fishery.
Rainbow and
some brown trout are present, with chinook salmon runs in the fall.
