Harris Creek flows into the San Juan River,
just south of the bridge over the Harris Creek Main logging road,
near the town of Port Renfrew on southern Vancouver Island.
The run of summer
steelhead in Harris Creek is low during June and July, with the
winter steelhead run in February and March. Runs of coho salmon
occur in the fall. Fishing is invariably good after a few days of
rain.
Access to Harris Creek is good along this road, as well as from
the Robertson and Hillcrest logging roads from the southern shore
of Cowichan Lake.

Additional Info: Camping facilities are available at the
Fairy Lake Recreation Site. The popular campground is an open RV-friendly
campground, with a beautiful sandy beach. It has a tendency to flood
in heavy rain, but is normally high and dry during the popular summer
months. Camping is also available at Lizard Lake Recreation Site.
The treed 28-site campground is seperated from the day-use area,
and there is a smaller, separate walk-in area with 4 tent pads.
The Pacheedaht First Nations also operates a popular campground
on the shores of San Juan Beach in Port Renfrew.
